Eligibility (Engineering programme)
A candidate who meets the age restriction criteria given in this prospectus becomes eligible for admission on production of F.Sc./DAE result card securing 60% marks in F.Sc. (physics, chemistry & mathematics) or DAE. It should be noted that the minimum criteria of 60% marks in F.Sc./DAE/ICS for admission in the B.Sc. Engineering Programme is applicable for all categories. In addition the candidate must obtain at least 100 marks in the Entry Test conducted by NFC IET, Multan. An attested copy of Result Card must reach IET at the scheduled date. However, he/she can appear in the Entry Test without the result card. *Candidates studying Computer Science/ Computer Studies in lieu of chemistry in F.Sc./A-Level and ICS are eligible only for Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics Engg. and Computer Systems Engg.
Eligibility [BS(CS)]
F.Sc. Pre-Engineering/ Pre-Medical/ DAE/ Intermediate with Computer Science/ General Science/ Commerce or equivalent with 45% aggregate marks.
Choice of Disciplines (Engineering Programmes)
Candidate will have to mention his/ her preference for Chemical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering programmes. In case candidate is interested in only one or two of the programs then he/ she should indicate on the application form accordingly. Preference once given will not be ordinarily changed except in inevitable cases provided merit is not disturbed. A re-processing fee of PKR. 1000 will have to be paid in each case. Please put a cross (X) against discipline in which you are not all interested.
Category "A" through "J"
It is based on comparative merit against domicile of candidate. The candidates applying on these categories must submit an attested copy of their domicile certificate along with the application form; otherwise their application form will be rejected. For Category-H (Balochistan) candidates who are under 21 years of age must submit an attested copy of domicile certificate of their father showing the candidate’s name and age along with the application form, failing which their application form will be rejected. Those applying against B, C & D categories must also apply against category 'A'.
Category "K" (Overseas)
It is based on comparative merit irrespective of Nationality or domicile. Foreign Nationals can also apply against this category and are required to provide proof of equivalence of their qualifications. An overseas candidate must attach the attested photocopy of passport and work permit of his/her parents along with application form failing which he/she will not be considered for admission on Category. Overseas fee for engineering programme is Rs.300,000/- and for computer science it is Rs.125,000/-.
Category "L" (DAE/ B.Tech (Pass/ Hons)
Candidates holding DAE qualification in respective technology with at least 60% marks are eligible to apply against this seat. For admission against seats reserved for holders of the Diploma of Associate Engineering/ B.Tech (Pass/ Hons) the applicant should have passed the diploma examination from a Board of Technical Education in the relevant technology. The seat reserved for diploma holders is on all pakistant bases in engineering programme. However for computer science DAE holder may apply against any seat.
Category "M"
Seats are reserved for female. However, the female can also apply on merit seats.
Category "N" (Professional Engineers)
It is also based on comparative merit within the category. Valid registration of Pakistan Engineering Council is required from father of candidate applying against category "N".
Category "O"
Some seats are reserved for real sons/daughters of NFC/IET Employees. Candidates must fill in a Performa (available at Admission Cell of NFC IET) and submit it alongwith the application form. The NFC Head Office shall nominate the candidates for admission after verification of their credentials which shall be put up before admission committee for final approval.
Category "P,Q"
Reserved for children of employees of Armed Forces and nominee of Ministry of Industries & Production. Detailed information may be obtained from IET Admission Cell.
Category "R"
Reserved for real sons or daughters of working/retired/deceased academic staff/employees of B.Z University on reciprocal basis. Detailed information to be obtained from IET office.
Candidates applying against category M, N, O, P, Q & R seats must also apply against respective provincial open seats.
Category "S" (Self Finance)
Some seats are offered on self-finance basis. The eligibility for Self-finance seats is payment of PKR.300,000/- (Rupees Three Lac) in addition to meeting other eligibility conditions. This amount is not refunded in case a candidate is offered admission against the category. Self finance fee for computer science will be 200,000/=.
